Before the Words: What We Really See in Couple Therapy
As couple therapists, we often feel it before we can name it: A pause that holds more than silence. A gaze that lingers, loyal to something invisible. A pattern that feels too old to belong only to the present.
And we ask ourselves:
Where does this dynamic begin?
What belongs to whom?
How can I support the couple without becoming entangled myself?
From Individual to Relational Field
Over the past decade in my clinical practice, I’ve been developing a method that allows us to work systemically with both partners simultaneously represented in the constellation field.
Instead of exploring one partner at a time, we place the relational dynamic itself at the center of our attention. The result? A clear, symbolic representation of what moves between them, and not just within them.
This live image becomes a map of inherited entanglements, unresolved loyalty, and deep unmet needs.
Why This Changes Everything
When we see both partners in the field, we can:
Work with systemic couple therapy tools in real time
Use symbolic representation to access multi-generational patterns.
Support the couple without carrying their emotions ourselves
Create a space for insight, movement, and deep relational healing.
This isn’t about adding more theory. It’s about cultivating presence, precision, and clarity — and letting the field show us what wants to emerge.
Systemic Couple Therapy Supervision - A Space to Learn and Practice
On September 15th, I’ll be opening a 6-session pilot systemic Couple Therapy Supervision group for couple therapists and constellation practitioners.
We’ll meet every two weeks on Zoom (CET), in a small, supportive group.
Each session will include live case supervision, guided constellation practice, and a deepening of systemic seeing.
You’ll To ensure a productive learning environment, participants should have a basic understanding of systemic therapy and be familiar with constellation work. I am a seasoned couple therapist and constellation practitioner with over a decade of experience in the field.
You’re not just invited, you're welcomed with open arms.
If you’re a couple counselor or systemic practitioner, you want to deepen your ability to hold the field with clarity, work symbolically, and support relational transformation from the roots —
This space is for you.
👉 To apply, please message me on WhatsApp with a brief introduction and your experience in couple therapy or constellation work.
The field is already present.
We only make space to feel it.
And you already know how to listen.
With presence,
Sivan Avni
